About the Campaign
As Canadians, we take pride in our public healthcare system, where medical care is available to all - regardless of ability to pay. In this country, if your child is sick, you reach for your health card, not your credit card to get the care you need. When a family member is injured, your first concern is getting them medical attention, not worrying about how to pay the bills or if the insurance company will cover the procedure - and that is the way we want to keep it. We don't want American-style two-tier healthcare where CEOs get to jump to the front of the line and your children have to wait at the back like second-class citizens.
That is why we are standing up for public healthcare and
asking you to do the same. A major battle in the fight for healthcare is happening
right now in Ontario, where on October 6 there will be a vote to elect a provincial
government that will shape the future of public healthcare in Canada. The battle
is over whether healthcare is for people or for profit; whether we need more
perks for CEOs or investments in frontline care; whether we need to close more hospitals
or start providing better care to seniors at home so we can make our healthcare
system stronger and make our country stronger.
That is why we are calling on everyone in Ontario to vote for healthcare. We want you to do the same. Stand up for healthcare. Start now. Get active. Get involved.
